Yoga Experience with Nelle

This 4-day yoga experience is suitable for anyone – no matter body type, age or gender.  If you are ready to make sense of the magnificent body you have, this retreat is for you. The experience is set in the beautiful Richtersveld.

It starts with dinner on Thursday 30 April and ends with breakfast on Tuesday 5 May 2020.

Your teacher Nelle uses a holistic approach that will include Kundalini and Vinyasa yoga. Her practice focuses on lymph movements, mindfulness and guided meditation.

You can also learn how to make conscious changes to your lifestyle. Nelle will be sharing lifestyle techniques anyone can use to shift themselves into a higher physical, mental and emotional experience of themselves.

This retreat is set in our beautiful Orange River camp, The Growcery, in the Richtersveld. It’s the perfect place to find yourself and connect with nature. You will have an undisturbed view of nature from your tent.

Come explore food with thought, as well as different yoga and meditation techniques. We will also paddle down the Orange River and overnight on the river bank under the stars.

After spending 4 days immersed in nature you will leave feeling healthier, invigorated and encouraged to make lifelong lifestyle changes.

With this yoga experience you will

Get grounded & go green

  • Here you can kick off your shoes and walk barefoot on the earth. You will be surrounded by some awe-inspiring views of nature.

Get guidance

Nelle is a qualified and experienced yoga instructor who will guide you through poses, breathing techniques and meditation to improve balance in the body.

Get flexible

You will engage in a series of stretches and movements every day, both gentle & challenging. They are designed to open the body and lengthen the spine. This is very important for the proper functioning of our nerves and immune system.

Get moved

By learning Kundalini yoga techniques, you will fuel every cell of your body. This ancient science of the body improves your energy as a whole.

Get nourished

Expect a diet that supports you on your way to optimum health. You will receive naturally grown, living foods, high in enzymes and low in toxins. Food that is light, digestible & nutritionally dense. Expect sensational flavours and aromas that thrill the taste buds.

Get flowing 

We will be led by an Orange River guide during our paddle to a spot where we can experience a sunset yoga flow surrounded by the Richtersveld mountains. Sunset on the banks of the river is beautiful. Afterwards, we can enjoy dinner cooked on an open fire.

MORE ABOUT THE TEACHER

Nelle Fick put together this unique yoga experience. She revers to herself as a student of yoga as she only teaches what she practices herself. Her aim is to guide you through safe and fun movement.

She has received both her 200-hour Vinyasa and 200-hour Kundalini certification with Yoga Alliance. Through numerous Vipassanā courses, she has meditated silently for over 30 days to gain more insight and experience with the mind-body connection. She has a strong self-practice.

The combination of movement, meditation and being in nature focuses on the whole body. Get your system functioning properly and all your glands and organs balanced. We will focus on going deeper: clearing negative emotions, stabilizing the mind and balancing energy in the body. The idea is to learn how to become physically and mentally fit through positive lifestyle changes.

She believes in honing all her skills, talents and creativity to meet others in a harmonious way. She wants to serve and share her practice to guide you to mastering your own reality and reclaiming your sovereignty!

Adventure SCHEDULE

Day 1

  • Arrive at The Growcery Camp before 5PM.
  • Enjoy the welcome dinner and receive a briefing.
  • Meet your Yoga Teacher.

Day 2

EARTH

Today our practice aims to create structure and ground the body and mind  
  • The morning starts with a morning drink and tapping into the earth element through a grounding yoga session. Breakfast smoothie bowl will follow to boost our energy levels and get us ready for this exciting growth opportunity.
  • Settle in and integrate with your surroundings. Roam the greenery, enjoy a swim in the river and enjoy the mountain scenery around you.
  • We get together for a yoga session around before sunset. Soak up the energy of your surroundings and charge your battery! Get your mind focused on what you would like to achieve in the next few days to come.
  • Meet for dinner at 19:30 for 20:00 and end the day with a guided meditation.

Day 3

WATER

We focus on tapping into the fluids in the body and moving the lymph  
  • Our morning starts with a smoothie breakfast and a yoga session at 8:00 focusing on letting go and letting your creativity flow!
  • After our yoga session, snacks will be ready and then it is time to get ready for our night under the stars. Before lunch, your guide will assist you in getting ready for the river trip – packing and tying up your boat.
  • We aim to be on the water by 13:00. We move with the river and enjoy the body of water that surrounds us for the next 4 km. Experience the silence of nature, the formations of the mountains and the beauty of the landscape.
  • Upon arrival at our designated campsite you can explore and experience just being in nature. Remember to rehydrate and get comfortable in your own skin.
  • We meet again before our sunset hike for a yoga stretch before we walk up the mountain for a true Orange River sunset. We will take this opportunity to meditate and absorb the energy of the mountain and the sunset.
  • Stroll back to our base for the night and get comfortable around the fire while dinner is being cooked on an open fire in our outdoor kitchen. Think ginger, cumin and vegetable parcels.
  • After dinner we share our experiences, tell stories and enjoy a bonfire with each other.

Day 4

AIR

Find balance and nurture that internal rhythm with love & compassion  
  • Wake up to the sound of the birds in the morning. Feel invigorated by the smell of crisp morning air and the changing of the colours of the sun in our sunrise meditation.
  • Your guide will greet you with a morning drink while getting ready for your sunrise meditation. Breakfast will be ready after meditation. Sit down and think about what you eat and how this will refuel your body.
  • After breakfast, it is time to head back to camp with a slow and steady row, breathing in the fresh air. Practice conscious contemplation. Clean up your mind and your thoughts. Feel your shoulders and chest getting lighter.
  • A powerful and heart-opening yoga session with 100% fresh juice back at camp is something to look forward to. Lunch will be served with an abundant, green-filled and nutrient-dense salad, packed with antioxidants.
  • Free time after lunch with snacks set out during this time. We move into the heart and lungs with an hour and a half power yoga session before dinner around the fire.
  • Mindful meditation after dinner before we take rest after a full day.

Day 5

FIRE

Tap into what drives you, what ignites that fire element in your belly  
  • We spark up our day with a power shot and an hour and a half yoga session to detox our cells and infuse our nerves with new energy.
  • Breakfast will be served after our session. Think hearty and colourful fritter puffs. Enjoy free time after breakfast to talk and share stories before we embark on a hike to feel the fire and energy from the sun.
  • Once we reach the top of the mountain snacks will be shared among the group. Find your space and feel the silence. Feel the wind through your hair and the heat of the sun on your skin while enjoying the view from above.
  • After our hike, take a shower hour and gather for a gentle, deep yoga session. Then it’s time for dinner, relaxation and storytelling around the fire.
  • We end the day with a mindful practice of guided meditation before we take rest.

Day 6

  • Enjoy breakfast and a mindful meditation.
  • Greet each other with restored energy!
